SHELTER DREAMS 
TO CHILDREN
IN PERÚ

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Novo Andina Amsterdam pioneer in an initiative “ SHELTER DREAMS for  children from  High Andean Communities”  always aware of its weavers and their families  and always honoring their legacy, and their life situation decided to start a new project: SHELTER  DREAMS¨ where the main purpose ishelter  hundreds of children who die every year from the frost of the Peruvian High Andean region.

FACTS

Every year, dozens of children In Southern Andes of Peru  die of pneumonia and other respiratory infections during the winter months,  

With global environmental changes  last  years the freezing temperatures arrived almost three months earlier . The extreme cold, bringing snow, hail, freezing temperatures and strong winds, has killed hundreds of children In high Andean Region of Cusco.

This extremely cold consumes the defenses of locals and strangers.

At 4,100 m.s.n.m. the only season seems to be winter.

 

“In Peru there are more than 2.5 million children living above 3,000 meters of altitude; half of them are in extremely  poverty and need URGENT our help. If it's not frost, they're affected by snowfall or rain

 URGENT NEED 
 

  • There is  an urgent need for warmth.  That is why Novo Andina Amsterdam is launching  this fhilantropic  project to  giving all Alpaca fleece warmth to those children.

  • Mainly production of Alpaca fleece is  exported to Countries outside Peru,  becasue if Alpaca fiber is now a luxury fiber and  mainly  affordable to people with high economic ressources,

 

  •  Novo Andina Amsterdam is now willing to joint the communities of changemaker.

  • And help , and to demonstrate that their energy could be used for good and that companies must not only exist to generate employment, pay taxes and distribute profits, but also – and above all – to help people make informed purchasing decisions.

PROJECT PURPOSE 

For this reason, Novo Andina Amsterdam undertakes a sustainable project in time to weave Alpaca. 

 

To make real change by improving the quality of life of children living in vulnerable conditions in the Andes mountains and spreading warmth to those who need it most.

 When you buy from Novo Andina Amsterdam  you  will help donate a jacket filled with  alpafill, our technology that uses alpaca fiber as technical padding. Thanks to its inputs, this jacket is planet friendly, and enjoys the technical benefits of a spectacular fiber such as alpaca. The perfect combination of functionality and shelter. PROJECT HISTORY  

  • When i was a student and lived in Cusco I witnessed the suffering of children from two communities near the Pumahuanca ravine. I had to walk five hours to get there,”

  • Shelter weaves is Imagined timing living in Cusco , to be made in Perú and  now design in Amsterdam.

  • From each purchase of our products they are part of our impact, with a jacket, with a scarf or cape or even with a sock, you will be able to provide shelter and many smiles to the boys and girls of vulnerable communities of  Peru.

  • Shelter dreams by Novo Andina Amsterdam it is not only a clothing brand we want to created for commercial purposes, but a social enterprise.
